VIVALDI Fever! - Saturday 13th July, 4pm

  • SMC Conference & Function Centre 66 Goulburn Street Sydney, NSW, 2000 Australia (map)

What is it about Vivaldi's music that is so contagious? Eighteenth century audiences were stunned by his virtuosic and revolutionary concertos and today we continue to be gripped by Vivaldi Fever. In this program we delve into eighteenth century Venice with one of the finest baroque musicians in Australia. Jamie Hey, principal cellist of the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra will perform dazzling concertos and sinfonias by The Red Priest and his student Johann Georg Pisendel.

This program is a special opportunity to discover both Vivaldi’s showmanship and his more intimate side. Experience the entire gamut of Vivaldi's expressive capability and hear his music in a way you’ve never before, performed on our period instruments with the astounding musicianship of Jamie Hey.

Our S.M.C. concert will include an interval with wine and refreshments served.
